Why private lessons

Four reasons singles choose us

  • 01

    No partner needed.

Your instructor leads or follows as you learn. We teach both roles, so any social floor is open to you.

  • 02

    Built around you.

Your music, your pace, your body. We pick the steps that suit how you actually move.

  • 03

    Patience as a method.

No drilling, no shame, no rushed routines. Repetition until it feels right — then the next small thing.

  • 04

    Out on the floor sooner.

Most singles take their first dance out — a Friday salsa night, a wedding — within four to six lessons.

  • I came here for an introductory dance lesson at The Dance Circle. My contact was Bianca. She was very helpful, knowledgeable, and reminded me of my appointment. Given that I was doing ballroom dancing, I was paired with her husband, Dan.

Honest answers

What people ask us
before they come in.

I'm single. Will I always need a partner to keep dancing?
No. Most of the dances we teach (Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Swing, Cha Cha) are social dances where you dance with different people at events. Once you have a basic level, the Latin and Swing scenes in South Florida have regular socials where singles dance all night.
Am I too old to start?
No. We've taught people in their 60s and 70s who'd never danced before. The lessons are at your pace. The social scenes for partner dancing actually skew older than most beginners expect.
I'm self-conscious about dancing. Is private really better than group?
Yes, significantly. Group classes mean dancing in front of people you don't know while learning. Private lessons are just you and your instructor. By the time you go to your first social, you'll have basics that work.
What dance should I start with as a single?
If you want the busiest social scenes, start with Salsa or Bachata. Those have the most events in South Florida, the friendliest etiquette for newcomers, and the most partners to dance with. If you prefer something slower and more intimate, Argentine Tango is the deeper rabbit hole.
How fast will I progress?
Faster than you'd expect, especially in the first few weeks. You'll have a basic step within the first lesson and your first turn within two or three. After that, progress slows down a bit (which is normal) but you keep building.
