Why us, in four

The promises we keep

  • 01

    No contracts.

Lessons are billed as you book them. Pause, stop, change pace — no penalty, no awkward conversation.

  • 02

    No upsells.

No "ballroom medallion package." No surprise fees. The price you’re quoted on the phone is the price you pay.

  • 03

    No group classes.

Every lesson is one-on-one. You will never share an instructor with the back row of a fluorescent gym.

  • 04

    No partner needed.

Most students come alone. Your instructor leads or follows as you learn. Couples come together when they want to.

The story

How The Dance Circle came to be.

The Dance Circle started because Dan and Bianca got tired of how dance studios usually work. Big franchises with sales reps. Group classes where you spend forty minutes in the back of a fluorescent gym waiting for your turn. Long-term contracts pushed on people who just wanted to learn one wedding dance.

So they opened a small studio in Fort Lauderdale built around one rule: every lesson is private. One student or one couple, one instructor, one room, forty-five quiet minutes. No group floors, no shared instructors, no upsells. The price you are quoted on the phone is the price you pay.

Why private

Most adults who want to learn to dance are nervous. Not about the dancing — about being watched. About being the slowest person in a group class. About forgetting a step in front of strangers. Private lessons remove all of that. You set the pace. You ask the questions you actually have. You repeat the parts that did not click without anyone waiting on you.

The other thing private lessons let us do is meet you where you actually are. Some of our students have never danced. Some are competitive ballroom dancers in their twenties. Some are sixty-five and want to dance at their daughter’s wedding. The way you teach a couple their first foxtrot is not the way you teach someone preparing for a showcase, and a private lesson lets us do both without compromising either.

Who comes in

A lot of couples. People preparing for weddings, anniversaries, or just wanting a shared thing that gets them off the couch on Thursday nights. We have couples who have been coming for years and couples who book four lessons before a first dance and we never see again. Both are fine.

A lot of singles, too. Some are between relationships and want to be danceable at a Latin night. Some have always wanted to learn Argentine Tango and never found the moment. Some retired from a long career and decided this was the year. Private lessons work especially well for singles because there is no awkward pairing — your instructor leads or follows as needed.

And a steady stream of wedding couples. Usually four to eight lessons over a few months. We choreograph to the song you have already chosen, we work in your shoes when the day gets close, and by the rehearsal you both feel ready without feeling over-prepared.

What we are not

We are not a competition studio. We have students who compete and we coach toward it, but we do not pressure anyone in that direction. We are not a franchise — there is no central office, no syllabus we are required to teach, no quota of dances you are supposed to learn. We are not a place where you sign a six-month contract on day one.

What we are is a small studio in Fort Lauderdale where two people teach adults to dance, one lesson at a time. If that sounds like what you are looking for, book an intro lesson. Forty-five minutes, no pressure, no commitment. If it feels right, we go from there.
